This particular error relates to the popular Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software, frequently referred to as MBAM. When your machine suffers from this particular problem then you will see an error code akin to the following when you attempt to launch MBAM:

The first thing to try with regard to this error is to attempt to clean the registry of your computer. A good way to do this is to download the Total System Care, which will do an excellent job of cleaning your registry and often sort out the problem in itself.

The first thing to do in order to sort out this problem is to download run mbam-clean.exe. This can be found by Googling the filename, or through the MBAM website.
Once you run the file your computer will prompt you to restart your computer, you should do this immediately.
After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your anti-virus program and then download and install the latest version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.
Next launch MBAM and select the ‘Protection and Registration’ option. Next go to the ‘Update’ tab and check if there are any outstanding updates for the software. Then restart your computer again.
